Heerkretz Riesling GG
Learn More About This Wine
Maturation in stainless steel and traditional large and medium-sized barrels of German oak. Selectively hand-picked in the late season, sourced from the oldest and best parcels of the Heerkretz Grand Cru vineyard, extremely stony gravel and clay soil, a high level of shell calcium, and sub-soil of porphyry rock.
Clear, pale gold colour complex filigree nose, dominated by fruity aromas, peaches and passion fruit, with vegetal, herbaceous notes in the back, mint and lemon balm. Dry, fresh and invigorating acidity, pronounced mineral notes, full-bodied, very well balanced, very long finish.
James Suckling 2024 Report: 98/100 (2023 vintage):
“How can you resist this extraordinary beauty that’s the essence of white peaches and wild roses? Extremely concentrated, yet also very delicate and subtle, with a combination of coolness and gracefulness that’s extremely rare in the world of dry Riesling, or anywhere else. The purity of a mountain stream as it flies over the edge of cliff and plunged hundreds of meters into the depths. From organically grown grapes. Drink rom release.”
