We like ours organic and biodynamic. And we’ve met our perfect match thanks to our latest addition, MART, from Gramona. Gramona are admired as one of the finest makers of sparkling wine in Spain, they also make white and rosé still wines from Xarel-lo. All their wines are either certified Organic or Biodynamic.
MART is made from Xarel-lo Vermell (red Xarel-lo) a native grape variety of the Penedes. It is mainly sourced from Les Solanes, a family estate with 2 hectares growing in clay-limestone soils and is certified Organic by Demeter.
The manual harvest in 2018 took place on 5 August, which was a flower day according to the biodynamic calendar. It was bottled on 29 October 2018, also a flower day. Mart is a delicate pale rose, lively and refreshing with flavours of white peach and mediterannean herbs and infused with character.
