Redoma Branco Reserva
Learn More About This Wine
Redoma Branco Reserva comes from vineyards which are more than 80 years old, planted in mica-schist soils at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. Since its first edition in 1995, the main objective in producing this wine has been to reflect the character of the Douro old vines. The best barriques were selected for the wine’s maturation in order to guarantee minerality, complexity and ageing potential.Â
The grapes for the Redoma Branco Reserva were refrigerated and transported to the cellars where they were meticulously sorted before undergoing a slow and gentle pressing. The must was left to settle without skin contact for 24 hours, followed by a slow alcoholic fermentation in wooden barrique barrels. In these same barrels, the Redoma Reserva matured for 9 months, with complete malolactic fermentation.Â
Redoma Branco Reserva is an outstanding example of the Douro Valley’s potential to produce great white wines. Fresh and delicate on the nose, this wine’s complexity and character is supported by a subtle fruit profile with notes of citrus and pineapple, floral nuances as well as herbaceous and nutty hints. The palate shows good structure and excellent acidity, following through to a dry and piquant finish.Â
Serve with grilled fish, seafood risotto, white meats, vegetarian options: pasta with cheese.Â
