Peninsula Vinicultores / Bodegas Fontana

Peninsula Viticultores is a winemaking company grounded in authenticity, sustainability, and transparency.

Authentic wines reflect their origin, shaped by local conditions and culture. They are made with minimal intervention, free of defects, and adapt to the diversity of vineyards, production methods, and final styles. All authentic wines share a deep local identity and are crafted for thoughtful appreciation rather than awards or trends. Achieving authenticity requires practical, flexible approaches tailored to each vineyard and wine.

Sustainable winemaking at Peninsula means taking responsibility as winegrowers, winemakers, and citizens. Vineyards are farmed organically and managed as integrated ecosystems, respecting biodiversity from soil microorganisms to centuries-old oaks. Winemaking minimizes carbon and water footprints and waste. Sustainability also extends to market access, ensuring fair income for winegrowers and preserving vineyards at risk of abandonment.

Mesta and Merinas are available to the on and off trade respectively. Dominio de Fontana are from grapes only grown on the estate at Ucles and are blends of international and indigenous varieties.

The Oveja are a series of white and red wines from experimental plantings. The Mountain Wine Project in the Sierra de Gredos and Sierra de Gato are reinvigorating older vineyards and the communities who farm them.
