In December, the sparkling wine season tends to be accompanied by the Port. Port is a typical drink for December in combination with some cheese, and it is a classic for a reason. Here you can find a quick overview of the different ports from Niepoort.
White Port:
Made from white grapes, fresh and fruity (citrus/melon) or more nutty and rich.
Ruby Port
The most popular and simplest category. Rich in colour, fresh, young and fruity. Expressive Port with great character, vibrancy and drinkability.
Crusted Port
A premium quality Ruby port which has been aged in a bottle for at least three years before release. Here, it throws a deposit in the bottle (the crust), hence its name.

Late Bottle Vintage (LBV)
From a single vintage, aged for 4 to 6 years in large wooden vats. Bright fruitiness and freshness, with the integration of the vintage’s spicy complexity.
Non-Alcoholic: Kolonne Null and Fritz Muller
Port’s ultimate expression and one of the most age-worthy wines. Only declared and made from the very best years, vintage ports will age in the bottle for decades.
