Vintage Port maintains Niepoort’s tradition of making balanced Ports with great concentration, being at the same time fine and delicate that will last decades.

All the components for the 2022 Vintage Port were trodden by foot in circular granite lagares with 100% stems. The wines were racked soon after harvest, aged in “tonéis” (large oak vats) in the Douro over the winter, and then moved to the cellar in Vila Nova de Gaia in the Spring of 2023.

This wine’s appearance impresses with its wonderful deep purple rim, violet glints and beautiful, intense colour. The nose is delicate, elegant and incredibly sophisticated, with floral notes of violets mingling with aromas of graphite, liquorice and blackberries, culminating in a spicy finish which is drier than one would expect. This is among one of the best Vintage Ports of the past 10 years at Niepoort. Its structure, acidity, sweetness and beautifully balanced tannins promise excellent ageing potential.

Goes perfectly with blue cheeses.
