After several projects with various partners in the Alentejo region, Dirk Niepoort decided to literally take matters into his own hands and explore Portalegre in the Alto Alentejo region on his own. “Sempar” means “unequalled”, “unique”, “incomparable”.

The combination of the granite and schist soils as well as the altitude of the Serra de S. Mamede mountain range lends the wines a fine acid structure and freshness.

Light and bright in colour, this wine is fresh combining notes of aromatic herbs and fresh strawberries. Its pleasantly round palate shows elegance and keen acidity.
