Learn More About This Wine
Produced from the Alvarinho variety, this wine comes exclusively from the sub-region of Monção e Melgaço. The vines grow in poor granitic soils and enjoy plenty of sunlight and rainfall.
In order to bring out the aromatic freshness in the wine, harvesting began early. Bunches were hand-picked and placed into small crates before being quickly transported to the cellars under cool conditions. After destemming, the intact berries were pressed and left to settle chilled for 48-72 hours. A long fermentation period at low temperatures between 14 and 18 degrees followed. Lastly, the wine matured on its fine lees for four months with regular bâtonnage.
This wine has lemon hues, with citrus, floral (orange blossom) and green apple aromas and flavours. As a good Alvarinho should, the wine impresses with its balanced acidity and long, delicate finish.
An ideal partner for fish such as grilled cod or sardines.
