Learn More About This Wine

The Pinot Noir grapes come from a lieu-dit, of the same name, in the immediate vicinity of the Domaine. Situated at a lower elevation, the vines lie on limestone with a slim layer of clay. The maceration is done with whole clusters in cement vats, lasting for around 3 weeks. After emptying the vats and the blending of free-run juice and press-wine, the wine is matured in oak barrels for 12-14 months. After this the wine returns to their vats before bottling, bringing the total length of maturation to 18 months.

Whole cluster fermentation necessitates irreproachable levels of healthy grapes and non-stop attention, but these are the conditions that allow us to have rich fruit and silken tannins. The wine takes on aromatics of small red and black fruit, with an added creaminess in the mouth. The influence of the soil gives the wine a real freshness. This wine has a powerful depth with notes of black cherry and assam tea.
