Produced from 30 year old vines, the Niederberg Trocken 1G is all about delicacy. Cool in style with a little grip and austerity, beams of fresh acidity give this a pure, drinkable feel. Niederberg is the extension adjoining Halenberg with the same blue slate and quartzite soils. The difference lies in its steepness (being 40 degrees vs Halenbergs 70 degrees). Fermented and matured in traditional German foudres, same as the GGs.

“Although this is still very young, the cool, herbal nose is already very distinctive. A serious and rather intellectual wine with a very firm core that has enormous ageing potential. Whoever has patience will be greatly rewarded, better from 2021.
