Llopart

Llopart’s winemaking history dates back to 1385, when an ancestor was granted vineyards at Can Llopart de Subirats. The first sparkling wine was produced in 1887, and in the 1950s, Pere Llopart helped promote the craft of high-quality sparkling wines in the region.

Llopart’s estate comprises 500 hectares between vineyard and forest at 360 metres of medium altitude. The 102 hectares of the vineyards are the essence of Lloparts personality. The family cultivates the land organically. The geological configuration of the estate, with its varied orography in the form of slopes and terraces, and with a shallow soil depth, gives rise to vines with a large root extension, limited vigour and one of the lower yields in the wine-growing area.

One of Llopart’s key vineyard areas, Les Flandes, is a unique site with limestone soils over 16 million years old. Surrounded by Mediterranean forest, it supports organic farming and biodiversity, helping to naturally protect the vines. The old vines (planted 1940–1960) produce low yields of about 4,000 kg/ha (less than 1.5 kg per vine), resulting in highly expressive grapes.

Llopart is part of Corpinnat, a collective of producers in the Penedès region (south of Barcelona) dedicated to making premium sparkling wines. All Corpinnat wines are made from 100% organic, hand-harvested grapes—mostly native varieties—grown in the region and vinified entirely on the estate.

Corpinnat wines must be aged for at least 18 months, with some aged over 30 or even 60 months. The group emphasizes sustainability, fair pricing for growers, and full traceability, ensured through annual third-party audits.
