Hermanos Hernaiz

In 1996, Eduardo and Victor Hernaiz purchased an historic property which has been owned by Eugenia de Montijo, Empress of France and had won one of the awards at the Universal Exposition of 1878 (Paris). Their aim is to produce Rioja with a terroir and single vineyard focus. The vineyards are located in the northwestern corner of the DO Rioja between the Cantabria and Demanda Mountain ranges at 570 metres altitude, one of the highest areas of Rioja Alta. The climate is tempered by the winds of the Bay of Biscay.
