This wine is defined and influenced by the soils which are shell limestone with a layer of loess. The vines were planted between 1990 and 2010 with Burgundy 105 and Freiburg clones 5286 and FR1801 chosen for quality, yield and disease resistance. Spontaneous fermentation, lasting for approximately four weeks and aging on the lees for at least 24 months in large traditional wooden barrels. No fining or filtration when bottled, as the wines have been allowed to settle naturally.

Talrain typically has a cherry scented aroma, it has ripe elegant tannins and an aging potential for at least ten years.
