The Schulen vineyard has soils of Jurassic limestone. Vines were planted between 1970 and 1995 with several different pinot noir clones. Fermentation occurs spontaneously for about six weeks before aging on lees for 18 to 22 months. No new barriques are used, no fining or filtration.

Complex, spices combine with fully ripe cherries and wild raspberries. Substantial silky texture and concentrated fruit flavours. Ageing potential for at least 12 years.
