Belessa Perfecta White 2023
Learn More About This Wine
The shell (as seen on the label) is a natural occurring object of beauty having symmetry and flow and hints at the minerality of this wine.Â
Wines are strongly affected by the growing season and in particular by water availability in such a warm and dry region as the Priorat. 2023 for example showed the impact of a drought that had started the previous year in Priorat with just enough rainfall to allow for sufficient vigor to grow complete bunches, the berries were smaller, resulting in decreased yields.
Grapes are pressed whole bunch, and fermented primarily in stainless steel. Battonage over a two week period post fermentation broadens the mouthfeel. Every effort is made to keep oxygenation low, to preserve the fresh fruit character.Â
With 100% Grenache Blanc and more protective winemaking, the wine shows bright fresh fruit character. The warmth of the vintage, along with slightly reduced yields, brings a richer mouthfeel to the wine.
