Domaine de Bellevue Jerome Bretaudeau
Jérôme Bretaudeau is a renowned winegrower in Muscadet because of his creativity and experimental winemaking. He took over his family’s few hectares, located in the south of Nantes, in 2001, slowly adding parcels from surrounding communes. Jerome’s philosophy is to create fine Muscadet and make wine from the grapes he most loved to drink.
Domaine de Bellevue is today 15 hectares spread across multiple communes growing multiple grape varieties some very rare for the region such as Savagnin, Chardonnay and Merlot but of course also Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Melon de Bourgogne.
Domaine de Bellevue was certified organic in 2012 and certified biodynamic (Biodyvin) in 2020. The wines are unfined and only slightly filtered.
We are very proud to represent his wines in Ireland which we discovered in 2021 at the Dive Bouteille. Barbara still keeps the first (now empty!) bottle of wine she tried from him on her desk to remind us how much we wanted to secure an allocation of these rare and wonderful wines.
