Quinta da Pacheca
Quinta da Pacheca is a renowned vineyard located near the Douro River in Cambres, Lamego county. Its history dates back to the 16th century when it was owned by the Monasteries of Salzedas and St. João de Tarouca. The estate, named “Pacheca” after its owner Da. Mariana Pacheco Pereira, played a significant role in the demarcation of the Douro Wine Region in 1758. Today, Quinta da Pacheca boasts 75 hectares of vineyards and specializes in producing high-quality Douro DOC and Port wines. It was also one of the first wineries to bottle DOC wines under its own brand. In addition to winemaking, the estate offers wine tourism experiences, including guided tours and accommodation at The Wine House Hotel Quinta da Pacheca. Since 2012, the project has been led by Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves, who have focused on enhancing wine quality and promoting wine tourism. Quinta da Pacheca has gained recognition for its exceptional wines and has received numerous awards in the wine tourism industry.
