“This is a lighter alternative to some of the bigger, more full-bodied reds on display elsewhere today. An interesting nose presents ripe strawberry, cherry and a modicum of earthy baking spices. Made from 100 per cent gamay, it has notes of vibrant fresh raspberries, perfectly balanced acidity and silky tannins. It would work really well with a lighter, gamier meat such as rabbit ragù or a Toulouse sausage casserole.”
