Adrien Amoreau of le Puy visits Ireland!

We were delighted to have Adrien Amoreau, 15th generation of le Puy, with us for 2 weeks in September 2021. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the Irish market and to get an insight into the day-to-day life of WineMason as an importer and distributor of le Puy.

To mark his visit, we held a tasting on current and back vintages of Emilien, Barthélèmy and Retour des Iles, in Wine Upstairs on Monday 13th September.

Adrien and Ben continued on to Galway following the tasting, where they met with our customers out west, including the team at Ashford Castle, who kindly showed Adrien and Ben around the 400 year old vaults; significant for Adrien seeing as le Puy, as an estate, is also over 400 years old.

From Adrien –

« During my first international experience under the Chateau le Puy label, I participated in a tasting of our wines in Dublin, with the Wine Mason team, which allowed me to meet Irish wine merchants, sommeliers and restaurateurs.

I was impressed by the dynamism of the wine market in Ireland, and the sharp culture of the various participants in this tasting, which attracted more than thirty professionals.

This trip allowed me to discover this country, Irish culture, and the Wine Mason team, whom I thank for this great experience. »

We’d like to extend a big thank you to Adrien for his help and insights during his time here. We are very excited to continue working with Chateau le Puy and the Amoreau family over the coming years.
