Rodrigo has separate projects, under his own name, he makes Cies, named after a local island. Cies is a village wine from Meano where Rodrigo was born, in the heart of Salnes valley of Rias Baixas. The fruit comes from three old vineyards (30 to 70 years old), the theory is that Albarino here was first planted in the 12th Century.
Mostly fermented in old wooden tanks, and then aged partly in a selection of different sizes of oak, and partly in stainless steel, creating a fascinating combination of apricot fruit and penetrating freshness. It perfectly combines maturity and freshness, it is intense, mineral, vibrant and complex with a lingering sensation on the palate.
