Vaudésir is one of the seven Climats of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation. A natural amphitheatre it covers 15.4 hectares of the 100 hectares designated as Grand Cru. It has both south and north facing slopes and the orientation of the vineyards play a role in defining the style of the wines. The soils also contain more clay though the subsoil remains classic with Kimmeridgian marly limestone. Wines from Vaudesir are very charming and often show well earlier than say other Grand Crus such as Les Clos.
