Ried (single vineyard, cru) Renner is situated on the slopes below the Ried Gaisberg Riesling terraces. The soil structure here is getting deeper and offers more retention for the vines. Beside loess a high proportion of erosion material from primary rock (brownish para-gneiss, amphibolite and mica) is the foundation of this vineyard. 

The wines of Ried Renner present themselves in a radiant yellow-gold colour and open with a bright, intense and elegant, remarkably refined and distinctive bouquet and a precise balance of a rich and complex (also texturally) mouthfeel. Juicy fruit, spicy notes and a refreshing vitality are finely knit together and harbour a long, intense and persistent finish that reveals fine tannins and characteristic salinity. It is a natural companion to traditional Austrian cuisine, such as pork or veal roasts and deep fried fare from stables or gardens. 

Ried Renner is found below the characteristic terraces of the Gaisberg mountain, where it presents a wine of juicy roundness, paired with a long, minerally driven finish, that is an expression of the profound and mineral rich soil structure.
