Domaine Josmeyer – Mise du Printemps – Pinot Blanc
Learn More About This Wine
This wine is part of the “Artist Series”, with the label changing every 3 years. La Mise du Printemps is made from 40-year-old vines of Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc. Due to tradition and a historical perspective, Alsace wineries are permitted to label a wine with Auxerrois as Pinot Blanc. The wine is made from around 20 plots, ranging from the northern slopes of the Grand Cru Hengst to the alluvial and gravel terroirs around Wintzenheim.
Depending on the vintage, it will be delicate on the nose with scents of white flowers, yellow peaches, and citrus zest. The palate is elegant and digestible, with a supple, sustained acidity that structures the fruit and flower in a harmonious manner. A fine salinity accompanies the material which evolves gracefully after a few minutes of aeration. It pairs well with asparagus, spring vegetables, fish dishes, dinner aperitifs, toasts, and antipasti.
