Vines have been tended along the Domitian way since 118 B.C. and evidence of Roman civilisation abounds all around the vineyards which make up the appellation Picpoul de Pinet. Cave L’Ormarine is one of the most important producers in the region having actively promoted the uniqueness of the grape and vineyards to AOC status. The abundance of oysters and coquillages from the Etang de Thau, always within sight, bear testament to the affinity of this wine to seafood. The Preambule offers pure flavours, Duc du Morny is a touch riper.
