Abbia Nova is owned and run by cousins Daniele and Pierluca Proietti, who inherited the land from their grandparents. The estate consists of seven hectares of parcels located in the town of Piglio – 40km south of Rome. Here, the grape in focus is Cesanese. They take a natural approach to viticulture, farming according to organics and biodynamics. There is also minimal intervention in the cellar. They are certified organic and are in conversion to biodynamic.
