St Laurent showing it’s best self, in maybe one of the best vintages of the last decade. It was warm but never too hot, and thanks to a rainy May, the vines had optimum stress-free conditions to grow. The autumn was golden, the skies blue, and the grapes ripened to pristine condition. Most of the vineyards in which St Laurent is rooted are located on the Parndorf Platte. It is a relic of the original Danube, which is shown best in the soil, which consists of gravel and alluvial sand. The vineyard brings its wind which provides somewhat cooler conditions and consequently longer vegetation periods are the result, which you can see in the early-ripening of the St Laurent grapes. In the cellar, the fermentation started spontaneously, the ripening took place in 500-litre wooden barrels, no fining, no filtering and minimally added sulphur. 

Playful, elegant and yet emphatically. The wine has vigour and power with a deep, clear, cool, red berry fruit. Mineral, powerful and vital on the palate. The tannin is very fine, the structure juicy and light-footed, yet noticeably bundling.
