WineMason provides independent retailers and restaurants with original and distinctive wines.

We introduced more than 40 new wines earlier this year. These ranged in origin and style from Bordeaux (Chateau le Puy, Chateau Haut Breton Larigaudiere and Chateau Tayet), Cava Reserva and Gran Reserva Cava (Llopart), wines from Jura (Ricjkaert and Domaine Berthet Bondet) and from volcanic Islands (Azores Wine Company) to name just a few.

But a wine list needs constant updating. Some things to look our for in this edition include:

Chardonnay, from Julien Schaal in Elgin joins those from Burgundy and Jura. Sauvignon Blanc from Austria and Slovenia from Armin Tement. Verdelho from the Azores and South Africa. A house wine Mesta Garnacha from Spain and single vineyard biodynamic Grenache from Domaine Turner Pageot in Languedoc.

We work with 45 wineries over 8 countries and have listed over 250 wines. While the comments above have focused on the growth of the list, we have arrived at this point with some editing or pruning to use a wine analogy. Unchecked growth is not the ambition, what we are working on is growing a strong and vibrant wine list that is relevant to your needs but also offers excitement.

Barbara Boyle MW
Barbara was born into a very good port and sauternes vintage. She first encountered wine on a school trip to the Loire. She spent ten years working as an accountant, which facilitated a modest cellar, wine studies and travels. In 2001, Barbara completed a WSET Diploma in Wines & Spirits, and became a Master of Wine (MW) in 2016. Her Research Paper was on the effect of serving temperature on the sensory attributes of Ruby and Tawny Port. Barbara is responsible for wine buying, communications and finance. Ben Mason
Ben was born into an off year for wine – but was not deterred from pursuing a wine career. He first studied in Germany and Scotland, then returned to Ireland to work for Searsons Wine Merchants from 1997 to 2001. He subsequently co-founded the Wicklow Wine Co. Ben has held a WSET Diploma since 2000, and his command of the German language extends to fluency with Riesling. The WineMason Portuguese portfolio was a result of Ben and Barbara’s first meeting – then marrying – in Porto. Austria followed, and then a growing brood of wines from other countries. Ben and Barbara established WineMason in 2013 to focus exclusively on wholesaling wine to the independent trade. Ben is responsible for wine buying and wine sales, and you can contact him at
